Denver Police Museum

The Denver Police Museum was honored to host the Wheat Ridge Optmist Club today. We did a tour of police history and we had a special presentation by Dr. Gregg LaBerge, Director of the Denver Crime. Dr. LaBerge shared with the group how technology plays an important role in law enforcement today! We greatly appreciate all of the work Optimists do to make our community a better place.

Last night, we held a dinner at the Denver Country Club honoring the Rich, Griffiths, Clifford, Dill & Haney families. It was such a privilege for us to be able to honor and fellowship with everyone!

Today, the Denver Police Museum unveiled its 1998 Crown Victoria Police Car. The car was donated by a local family. The car bares the names of Denver’s 77 fallen Officers with a special recognition of fallen Officer Bruce VanderJagt at the request of the donating family. As part of the ceremony, the museum recognized the hard work of Denver’s Fleet Management Team. Law Enforcement is a team effort, and the support the garage provides is invaluable!

FOR THE SADIE LIKENS PROCLAMATION ON TUESDAY, 3/26/24: To any Denver Police Department women or Volunteers in Police Services at the Denver Police Department /DPM volunteers interested in attending, here is the schedule for the Sadie Likens proclamation on Tuesday, 3/26: - Breakfast is in the first floor foyer of the Capitol building at 8a - The Senate will go into session at 9a, and the tribute should be the first order of business - We will then proceed to the center of Lincoln Veterans Park for the memorial sign program at 10a - We will all meet for lunch after at the Cap City Tavern at 11a; we have reservations under the Denver Police Museum - The Denver City Council Proclamation will be at 3:30p in the Denver City Councilman Building on the 4th floor We hope to see you all there! It was a privilege for the Denver Police Museum to partner with the Blair Caldwell African American Research Library and The Denver Black Police Officer's Organization to honor Robert C. White, Denver's First Black Police Chief for Black History Month 2024. We had an all star line up of speakers including Former Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, former Justice Alex Martinez, Denver City Councilman Darrell Watson, Former Councilman Albus Brooks, former Deputy Chief Matt Murray, Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas, former Denver Police Foundation Executive Director Jane Prancan and the one and only, Valerie White.
