If your weekend plans involve any digging in the yard, don't ruin it by hitting a buried power line, gas line, or telecom line. That could be both dangerous and expensive. Calling 811 before you dig is the law. Call 811 today and get your underground utilities safely marked for free before the weekend arrives.

No one really loves to pay their electric bill each month. Maybe it's time to flip the script and make us pay you? If you purchased a dehumidifier, electric lawnmower, solar install, pool pump, battery-powered yard tools, LED lightbulbs and more, it may be time to get yo' money. #rebates #cooperativedifference

Youth Tour 2024 was an incredible success! As part of a tradition that dates back to the 1950s, Dakota Electric sent five of our community's best and brightest high school students to Washington, D.C. While there, students learned about electric cooperatives, befriended other students from across the country, met with lawmakers, learned about energy policy, toured monuments and more. If you know a 10th, 11th, or 12th grader who would enjoy an all-expense paid experience in our nation's capital, keep an eye out next fall for applications.

Dakota Electric is hiring for a Lead Executive Assistant. Don't worry: we're not a bunch of perfectly fit, six-fingered, melty-faced replicants like the "people" in this AI-produced image. We're people just like you who live in our community, have a desire to make it better, and take pride in a job well done. We're ordinary people who come together to make the extraordinary. If that sounds like a team you'd like to be a part of - and if you're better organized and more responsible than the weirdos in marketing - click the link to learn more. #nowhiring #hiring https://lnkd.in/gG7jqefj

Hot days like this are perfect reminders to ditch the oven and either grill out or eat out. Using a kitchen oven can significantly raise the temperature inside your home, making it harder to keep cool. Grilling outside keeps the heat out of the house and can help lower your energy bills. Speaking of grilling: how did we not know about Greg's Meats until now?? A colleague told us his 4th of July cookout shopping always starts at Greg's Meats and after one trip we understand why. Were we the only ones who didn't know about this gem? Any other local butchers that we need to know about?
