Da Vinci Schools

This week the students of Jessi's Da Vinci Aviation elective got a real treat: a day at Torrance Airport and the unforgettable chance to pilot a flight for the first time. As part of the continuing partnership between Giving Kids Wings Flight Academy and Da Vinci Schools, Dan arranged and guided the tour, and provided instruction for the flights. Salvador, Jasmine, Lukas, and Stephen got to see what happens in the flight control tower (a big thank you to Harrison), flew a state-of-the-art flight simulator, and expanded their learning by performing pre-flight checks on a real plane (more big thanks to Reza and Pacific Skies for letting us use their hangar). The cherry on top was of course the first flights. Here are just a few of the pictures from that day. Da Vinci Schools is hosting their first-ever “Community Aviation Day” on Saturday March 23rd from 9am-noon at their 201 N. Douglas Street, El Segundo, CA campus. This event will provide the community a chance to learn more about aviation careers and opportunities and meet people and organizations connected to area aviation. Da Vinci Schools would appreciate any representation and support, including hosting booths/tables where kids and parents can learn more about careers and opportunities in the military and meet some of the men and women who serve in the armed forces.
