Happy Juneteenth! Residents and team members came together today to commemorate Juneteenth with a delicious barbecue from Boss Ross BBQ! They truly hit the mark with their delightful spread of ribs, chicken, mac and cheese, collard greens, black eyed peas, and watermelon. Today we celebrate freedom and honor our collective past. We strive toward a brighter and more inclusive tomorrow. 🇿🇦

🌿✨ Another successful event in the books! 🎉 Cypress Palms proudly hosted a Health and Wellness Expo to mark the culmination of Mental Health Awareness Month. It was a wonderful opportunity to foster community engagement and promote holistic health practices among our residents and team members. 💼 From informative booths to interactive sessions, it was a day filled with learning, relaxation, and rejuvenation. We had a Lunch & Learn session with Blue Q on chiropractic care, massage therapy sessions provided by Bodies in Balance Massage Therapy, and delicious homemade smoothies crafted by residents in our Pearls of Life® memory care neighborhood. And to add some laughter and joy to the day, we wrapped up the day with a session of Laugh Yoga with BAYADA Home Health Care, Clearwater, FL - Assistive Care! Laughter truly is the best medicine. A heartfelt thanks to all the vendors who contributed to the success of this event! We were honored to have Teepa Snow, dementia care specialist and occupational therapist, visit The Palms of Largo campus for an enlightening presentation. With over four decades of clinical experience as an occupational therapist, Teepa has revolutionized dementia education with her innovative and compassionate approach. Her profound insights and wealth of expertise have left a lasting mark on attendees as she provided our community with invaluable knowledge and practical tools for enhancing dementia care. Teepa's commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of dementia has undoubtedly elevated the standard of care at The Palms of Largo. We extend our deepest gratitude to Teepa for generously sharing her wisdom and contributing to enriching our community's approach to dementia care. A heartfelt thank you to all our vendors who played an integral role in making this event a resounding success. On Oct. 1, Director of Volunteer Services Margie Ratcliff with The Palms of Largo campus in Largo, FL, Regional Recruiter Katie Hoard and Regional Recruiter Susan Eng with The Goodman Group attended the college and career fair at Countryside High School in Clearwater, FL, to recruit new team members and volunteers. The exhibitors included college representatives, vocational businesses, first responders and military recruiters. This was a great opportunity to speak to students who are pursuing volunteer hours for Florida’s Bright Futures Scholarships and their parents who were exploring new opportunities of employment in health care. The event was a wonderful success with over 1,000 people in attendance.

Thanks to the overwhelming support at our Back to School Carnival, our life enrichment team swung into action! With the funds raised, team members and residents quickly acquired essential school supplies and meticulously packed 50 backpacks. The spirit of giving thrived as folks from every corner of our campus gathered at Cypress Palms to receive these backpacks. Together, we're paving a smoother path for the next generation. Education is a gift that truly keeps on giving!
