  • We’ve got 24,240 reasons to celebrate! Phil Long Dealership donated $24,240 to us in honor of Jay Cimino, their past president for 49 years. Jay, who passed away in February 2024, was pivotal in the creation of our Fishers Peak State Park and was known for his passion for selling cars and philanthropy. In April 2024, Phil Long Dealership held a give-back program benefiting five Colorado organizations in honor of Jay and we are one of the honored recipients! We are proud to receive this donation and celebrate Jay's legacy! Thank you, Phil Long Dealerships

This science at work is down to the bone ✅ An exciting discovery of skull and jaw fragments of a small mammal linked to all hoofed animals (also known as ungulates such as elk, deer, moose etc.) were discovered in Corral Bluffs Open Space in 2019 and 2021 and these findings were recently published in the “Journal of Mammalian Evolution”! Since 1991, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science has led multiple discoveries of species and plant fossils at Coral Bluffs. Through our Colorado Natural Areas Program (CNAP) - a statewide conservation program that identifies and designates places with unique ecological value - we have partnered with the City of Colorado Springs, the owner of Corral Bluffs, to highlight and monitor the natural values of the site. We’re proud to help protect Corral Bluffs with a designation as our state’s 95th Colorado Natural Area in 2016. Volunteers from the Colorado Natural Areas Council (CNAC) and CNAP were given a field tour of the area by members of the Corral Bluffs Alliance group recently and we tagged along to experience the phenomenal sights Coral Bluffs awards.
