About us

Founded in 1990, Consumer Direct Care Network (CDCN) assists people who self-direct their in-home personal care. Self-direction empowers people to manage their own services and supports, so they have more choice and control over how their care is delivered. CDCN provides quality care and support to families and people of all ages, including older adults, children, and individuals with physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities and veterans, so they can remain safe, healthy, and independent in their homes and communities. • Our Mission is to provide care and support for people in their homes and communities. • Our Vision is to help people live the life they want. • Our Values are Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence. At CDCN, you will be a valued member of a team that prioritizes collaboration and compassion in the community. We support individual growth and helping people build their careers in the home-care industry. CDCN has embraced a hybrid workplace structure. We employ 1,000+ administrative personnel. We work with Medicaid programs across the United States and are responsible for paying more than 107,000 caregivers who provide supports for more than 82,000 care recipients. We are proud of the longevity and loyalty of our employees. Their commitment to doing great work is what makes us a leader in the home-care industry.

  • As a policy and thought leader in Home and Community Based Services and Fiscal Intermediary programs, Consumer Care Direct Network (CDCN) was proud to attend the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) rally at the Capitol. NCIL is a leading organization that advocates for the rights and independence of people with disabilities, representing thousands of organizations and individuals, including Centers for Independent Living (CILs) and Statewide Independent Living Councils (SILCs). NCIL’s mission to advance independent living and the rights of people with disabilities aligns with CDCN's vision to help people live the life they want. CDCN's Bradley Rightnowar was proud to join the march and rally at the Capitol. Despite a steady downpour, NCIL's advocacy for independent living was heard loud and clear! 🌧️✊ #NCIL #5for5

  • Consumer Direct Care Network (CDCN) helps seniors and people with disabilities live the lives they want in their homes and communities instead of in unfamiliar institutional settings. We provide support in 14 states nationwide and are the largest self-directed service provider in the nation. Self-directed services put you in charge of your care. You can recruit, hire, train, schedule, and dismiss your care workers. We support your choices and decisions. Different care models change the level of responsibility and control you have. Here are the models, how they work, and where CDCN offers them: • Fiscal/Employer Agent (F/EA)– The F/EA model gives the greatest freedom and control but also the most responsibility. You fully manage and employ your care workers and decide how to spend your personal care budget. CDCN handles payroll tasks like withholding taxes and paying your workers. These services are available in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, New Mexico, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. • Agency With Choice (AWC)– In the AWC model, you are the managing employer and can manage your care workers within the budget authorized by your Medicaid agency. CDCN is your workers' official employer. We handle payroll tasks like withholding taxes and paying your workers. These services are available in Alaska, Arizona, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. • Support Broker Services – CDCN offers Support Broker, Training, or Consultant services in several states where we operate. The support broker role, provided by some Medicaid programs, helps people understand the available services, supports, and goods. Our services help people understand their roles in self-directed care. We are a resource people can call for help, focusing on customer-oriented service based on each person’s wants and needs. Our team can help with understanding paperwork, providing information on community services, and answering questions or concerns about being an employer of your direct care worker. Each state has its own programs and regulations. Are you interested in learning more? Click the link below to visit our website! https://lnkd.in/gGMXVUNV

  • On July 26, 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law. The ADA is a civil rights law prohibiting discrimination against people with disabilities in all areas of public life. Today, many people celebrate this important anniversary as Disabilities Independence Day. As Consumer Direct Care Network celebrates the anniversary of the ADA, we recognize the vital work done and the freedoms the ADA protects for individuals with disabilities. #ThanksToTheADA #ADAAnniversary2024 #AmericansWithDisabilitiesAct #ConsumerDirectCareNetwork #CDCN

  • Self-direction, also called consumer-direction, is a way for people who need long-term care to receive support and stay in their homes and communities. If you are in a program supported by Medicaid, you may qualify to be authorized by your state Medicaid agency for a certain amount of care at home. The state works with a Financial Management Services (FMS) provider to pay caregivers and support you in buying approved goods and services. The state also checks if you qualify for other types of support. Self-direction is about personal choice, control, and flexibility. In self-direction, you (or someone you trust to make choices for you) pick and train the people who care for you, plan when they’ll help, and choose how they’ll assist you. With self-directed services: - You stay in your home and community. - You pick your caregivers, possibly even friends or family. - You manage your care. You are in charge.

  • It's been a busy month at Consumer Direct Care Network (CDCN)! As we further CDCN's mission and vision of helping people live the lives they want in their homes and communities, we also pause for brief moments to get to know one another and appreciate the world around us. When our teams interact with each other more frequently, they break down perceived silos, better understand the resources available to them within our organization, and work more efficiently so we can support you to the best of our ability!

  • July is Disability Pride Month, and it's a cause for celebration! Our celebration includes feeling strong and proud about our disability history but also remaining vigilant about protecting and advancing equal rights and treatment for individuals with disabilities as we look down the road ahead. This year's theme is "We Want A Life Like Yours," which reflects the disability community's desire for life experiences that are too often denied. This month, we invite you to reflect on the people in your life and celebrate how they are thriving! Additionally, we invite you to reflect on ways you can help provide an answer or an opportunity for someone's dreams. Here are ways to show your pride and celebrate. We wish you a very happy Disability Pride Month! https://lnkd.in/gGcrBXz3
