Today we launched our new report Contact and confidence in a digital age: Improving police-public relations with technology. Thank you to our panellists DCC Simon Megicks, National Police Chiefs' Council Digital Public Contact Lead, ACC Catherine Akehurst, Contact Management Lead at Hampshire Constabulary and ACC Michelle Shooter, National Lead for Neighbourhood Policing, for a stimulating discussion. We looked at what the renewed focus on public trust and confidence means for their portfolio areas and the role of new technology within that; whether there are any risks to public trust from the use of new technology in policing; whether we need to think more holistically about the overall citizen experience of policing rather than just its silos (for example neighbourhood policing) and the barriers and challenges in adopting new technology in policing.  Read the report https://lnkd.in/eDtGvt2x

Curious about the evolution of Better Speech and Hearing Month? Here's the scoop! 🍧 Over 50 years ago, the National Association for Hearing and Speech Action (NAHSA), a branch of The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), initiated this awareness campaign. This year, the observance month will take on a new name, moving forward as National Speech-Language-Hearing Month. The word "better" was removed from the title to promote inclusivity and eliminate labels that could potentially imply judgment. What hasn't changed is the mission—to increase recognition of communication disorders, educate the public, and promote preventative measures. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/dA63EjYr.
