The organizations that Native Voices Rising partners with are rooted in Native communities, led by Native people, and center the community's vision for change in their lives. It is essential that these priorities are heard in our democratic process and in shaping our shared future. Thank you Sobrato Philanthropies for supporting #NativeVoicesRising and recognizing the critical role of Native-led organizations in building a strong multiracial democracy. With Native Voices Rising partners, Native Americans in Philanthropy, we're thrilled to have more funding aligned for Native organizing and advocacy efforts. Given unprecedented challenges to our democratic institutions and ongoing efforts to suppress full voter participation in the upcoming U.S. elections, we are proud to announce $3.5M in renewed funding commitments to key grantee partners. These organizations, all regrantors led by people of color, are supporting community-led grassroots organizations in Silicon Valley, California, and across the nation to protect the integrity of our election system and the rights of all Americans. They are focused on organizing, advocacy, and civic engagement to ensure equitable participation, voice, and power for communities most impacted by injustice. In addition to regranting to grassroots organizations, these partners play an outsized role in supporting nonprofits to grow their impact by providing essential, complementary supports, including convening grantees, organizing donor learning, managing capacity building programs, leading coordinated advocacy efforts, and more. These investments follow our 2020 commitment of $6M to support the national movement for race equity following the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. We are deeply honored to continue partnering with these groups and to support their work at this critical moment. The Fund for an Inclusive California has deep and longstanding relationships with community organizations across the state. In our experience, the real magic and possibility of our work happens when we listen to field leaders’ insights firsthand, to learn about their priorities and the dynamic landscape they are navigating. Earlier this year, Common Counsel Foundation in collaboration with the California Housing and Homelessness Policy Funders Network, brought funders together to learn from community partners’ perspectives and go beyond usual approaches to housing. We created spaces for peers in the sector to explore new possibilities and widen the aperture of what is needed from #philanthropy in the fight for housing justice. Read more and see photos, quotes and reflections from participants about what we learned in this call to action to break silos and work across issues and geographies for #housingjustice. https://lnkd.in/e8pPDQnc Funders Together to End Homelessness Jazmin Segura Amanda Andere Saa'un P.
