Coltura’s research shows that just 10% of drivers use over one-third of the gasoline in the US. Some states are pushing for EV incentives targeted to these “Gasoline Superusers” to reduce emissions faster. Burlington, VT leads the way with incentives for high-mileage drivers. A transformative bill to update California’s Clean Cars for All program cleared two committees this month! The Senate Environmental Quality and Transportation Committees passed AB 2401 with no members voting against it. The bill will be considered by the Senate Appropriations committee later this summer. This week, both #AB2086 and #AB2401 passed the #CALeg Senate Transportation Committee and are now headed to Senate Appropriations! Thanks to our bill authors Assemblymember Pilar Schiavo & Assemblymember Phil Ting, as well as key organizational partners including TransForm, Coltura, Union of Concerned Scientists, & Coalition for Clean Air, our priority bills are another step closer to advancing a more equitable transportation future for all Californians–especially #BIPOC and low-income communities throughout the state.
Despite a clean energy & EV investment boom, fossil fuel emissions are on the rise. We have the technology to slash emissions.
