New job growth in the U.S. has declined steadily, with monthly job openings dropping by more than one-third since mid-2022. Employers are still hiring. But any further slippage in labor demand could spell trouble. CoBank Quarterly Report: https://bit.ly/3XYCTuv

I am proud to work for an organization that supports the LGBTQIA+ community. A couple of months ago, I had the pleasure to attend The Center on Colfax Pride Career Fair with my colleagues Kevin Wood and Nick Sophinos! It was a great opportunity to network within the community 🌈

As a cooperative, we care about the communities we serve. We're proud to support Native and Indigenous communities, including our partnership with the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority - NTUA on the Light Up Navajo project. This three-year commitment connects volunteer line workers to provide electricity to homes on the Navajo reservation. ⚡️ Light Up Navajo ⚡️ With over 13,000 homes on the reservation without electricity, this crucial initiative brings power to families--allowing children to study under proper lighting and families to refrigerate food and medicine. Recently, CoBank associates visited the Navajo Nation, meeting families who shared stories of newfound conveniences, like enjoying their first hot cup of coffee from a coffeemaker, and peace of mind being able to cool and heat their homes to stay safe throughout the changing seasons. This year, Light Up Navajo powered over 200 homes, reflecting our mission to ensure every American, no matter how rural, has access to essential utilities and a high quality of life. #Milk #production was down for the 12th straight month in June, according to #USDA data. However, is #dairy #productivity really down? That's an important question as milk component production ... #butterfat and #protein has climbed 10 of the past 11 months and Americans are eating their dairy, rather than drinking it. To learn more, listen to this CoBank and Terrain webinar by Corey Geiger and Ben Laine https://lnkd.in/gdHa77K9

We are beyond grateful to Walker & Dunlop Team Hurley and CoBank Faverolles for choosing us as their Charity Partner for the 2024 Colfax Marathon, sponsored by Cigna Healthcare. By affirming their support for our mission and generously gifting us $1,250 and $1,000 respectively to further our work, these incredible businesses are championing commitment to health equity in the financial services industry. We are thrilled to have them on our team as we fight for a healthier, more equitable Denver! #runcolfax #cignamountainstates

This year’s U.S. rice crop is doing phenomenally well. USDA-NASS’s crop progress report this week reported the rice crop at an impressive 83% good-to-excellent – well above the 5-year average for Week #29 of 72% good-to-excellent. In the top rice-producing state of Arkansas, conditions are the best since 1996 for Week #29 (see chart). Hurricane Beryl has actually lifted conditions rather than hurt them with the extra rainfall. High winds and tornadoes from the hurricane caused only minor crop damage. Arkansas is well on its way to producing a record rice yield this year. If crop conditions hold through harvest, 8,000 lbs/acre for rice yields are possible in Arkansas. #grain #rice #agriculture #commodities #OATT CoBank
