  • Clinical Pastoral Education International (CPEI) Receives Accreditation from the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) Orange Park, FL, July 19, 2024 – Clinical Pastoral Education International (CPEI) is proud to announce that it has been granted accreditation by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). The accreditation renewal is scheduled for June 2027. This significant achievement marks a milestone in CPEI's commitment to providing high-quality distance education in the field of clinical pastoral education. The DEAC, a nationally recognized accrediting agency, evaluated CPEI's programs, policies, and procedures through a comprehensive review process, which included a site visit on January 11, 2024, and a thorough examination of the institution's operations and educational offerings. The Commission's decision, based on the March 4, 2024 Chair’s Report and CPEI's April 4, 2024 response, confirms that CPEI meets DEAC's rigorous standards for educational quality, ethical business practices, and continuous improvement. Accreditation by DEAC serves as a reliable indicator of the value and quality of the distance education provided by CPEI. The scope of the accreditation extends to the following programs: --Certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education --Certificate in Supervisory Education Dr. Dallas E. Speight, Chief Executive Officer of CPEI, expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for this accomplishment, stating, "We are honored to receive accreditation from DEAC. This recognition reflects our unwavering dedication to maintaining high standards in education and our commitment to providing our students with exceptional learning experiences. We look forward to continuing our journey of quality improvement and innovation in distance education." Dr. Gregory Delort, Chief Academic Officer, stated, “Being accredited by DEAC is another significant step forward for CPEI. This decision by DEAC verifies that CPEI not only meets the twelve standards for accreditation but also has shown evidence of maintaining these standards with a view toward excellence in the education of chaplains and other pastoral care providers. I am thrilled with CPEI's continued progress in moving the field forward and being a difference-maker in post-secondary education.” As part of its ongoing commitment to excellence, CPEI will submit an Enhancement Report by December 1, 2024, documenting the implementation and effectiveness of new policies and procedures related to student recruitment and discount offerings. This report will further demonstrate CPEI's dedication to continuous quality enhancement and adherence to DEAC standards.
