A global knowledge portal for climate change and development practitioners.
About us
Climatelinks is a global knowledge portal for USAID staff, implementing partners, and the broader community working at the intersection of climate change and international development. The portal curates and archives technical guidance and knowledge related to USAID’s work to help countries mitigate and adapt to climate change. We aim for this portal to improve climate change and development programming, amplifying the impact of USAID’s investments into the future. We hope Climatelinks becomes a place for development practitioners to help identify and refine practices, and to inform USAID’s technical direction in areas of information gaps. Climatelinks is a venue for knowledge sharing, implemented through the USAID Advancing Capacity for the Environment program. Climatelinks does not represent the views of USAID or the U.S. Government. Please visit USAID’s Website for official government information.

USAID’s Sustainable Landscape Opportunity Analyses (SLOA) provide national-level overviews that examine the impact of different options for reducing greenhouse gas emissions through land conservation, management, and restoration. Last year, USAID commissioned a SLOA for Tanzania in order to inform USAID programming in support of the Government of Tanzania's efforts to meet their Nationally Determined Contributions. The review identified eight natural climate solutions with the potential to deliver climate mitigation impacts as well as various co-benefits. https://lnkd.in/e9Knvu4m

In the Philippines, climate change is reducing ube yields through rising temperatures and altered weather patterns. USAID’s Safe Water Activity, implemented by DAI trains smallholder farmers on proper planting and maintenance methods so they can grow higher-quality ube and adapt to shifting weather conditions, strengthening their resilience to climate change. https://lnkd.in/eXUiwYn2
