Our "Never a Bother" youth suicide prevention campaign for California Department of Public Health's Office of Suicide Prevention won top honors this year. The thing is, we didn't just consult with youth — we co-created it with them (over 400 youth between ages 16 to 25 to be exact!). Here's what we learned along the way.

On May 1, the California Surgeon General launched Live Beyond, a campaign to raise awareness for youth affected by adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Live Beyond aims to provide support and resources for these youth, helping them build resilience and overcome challenges. This campaign focuses on: 🧠 Increasing knowledge about ACEs, toxic stress, and the science behind their potential impacts on everyday life 💙 Influencing attitudes about help-seeking by sharing stories of healing 📚 Building skills with accessible resources by providing scientifically proven, culturally relatable, actionable steps to heal and manage stress 💪 Inspiring action to overcome the impacts of ACEs and toxic stress, and preventing them from continuing into future generations Civilian couldn't be prouder to have created a thoughtful and nuanced campaign for such an incredible cause.
