And just like that, we’re in the last week of July. Why the hurry, summer? At least here in The Cov, there are a lot of good things to do throughout July’s final weekend, such as … gazing at the night sky, perusing cool art, shopping local vendors, partying with Parrot Heads, sampling spicy local-made sauces, listening to live music, and sipping wine in honor of a big hairy gentleman. So many good choices. Details at the link. https://bit.ly/3WDOuOy #Weekendin#LoveTheCov #LoveTheCov

JOHNSON STREET TO CLOSE: When one door (road) closes, another opens. That’s the case in the streets surrounding the Covington Central Riverfront development, where Bray Construction Services is installing streets, sidewalks, utilities, and other public infrastructure on the 23-acre site of the former IRS processing facility. After being closed for about eight weeks, West Rivercent Boulevard has reopened. But come Thursday, Johnson Street will be shut down between Third Street and Fourth Street. Note that Johnson’s intersection with Third Street will remain open, as will Johnson between Third and West Rivercenter. The closure is expected to last through Aug. 9, depending on the weather. #CCR #CovingtonCentralRiverfront #infrastructure #streetgrid #buildbackbetter

Having implemented much of Garner Report’s ideas, the City is updating its economic development strategy. Last week, City officials issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) that seeks a new multi-year, citywide economic development strategy that will clearly define the vision and set goals to keep Covington’s dynamic momentum on track.
