Congratulations to the Cleburne Police Department (CPD) for being reaccredited again! CPD was first accredited in 2016 and was reaccredited in 2020...and now 2024. Accreditation is voluntary and requires law enforcement agencies to prove that they meet or exceed 173 difficult standards based on Texas law, Texas court decisions and contemporary best practices as identified by the Texas Police Chiefs Association. Currently, there are only approximately 210 agencies that have attained accredited status out of more than 2,800 law enforcement agencies in Texas.

Did you know July is Parks and Recreation Month? We're grateful for our Parks and Recreation crew and everything they do to provide spaces for physical activity/relaxation and connect people through social events. Speaking of events, there will be plenty of free “Rave with Rec”-themed activities to celebrate the month. Check out the events calendar at bit.ly/CleburneParks.

After more than 66 years in the funeral business helping countless families in the Johnson County area, Jimmy and Carol Wray have retired. To honor the service, contributions, kindness and love they have shown to the community, Mayor Scott Cain named June 11, 2024 Jimmy and Carol Wray Day. And that’s not all! Mayor Cain also gave them the keys to the city because of the impact the couple has made. This is only the third time the Mayor has presented keys to the city. Enjoy retirement, Jimmy and Carol! We appreciate everything you’ve done to make Cleburne an even better place.

We had so much fun at our tropical-themed Employee Appreciation Luncheon! 🌸 What we do wouldn't be possible without the hard work and dedication of all our fantastic team members. Today was just a small token of appreciation for everything they do. A special thanks to our Human Resources Department for coordinating everything. Here's to many more moments of camaraderie, growth and accomplishments together!

Shoutout to the Cleburne Public Library staff and volunteers who put in a TON of hours to upgrade the checkout system. The library’s materials now have radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, which act like a lock. The item "locks" when checked in and "unlocks" when checked out. An alarm will sound if an item leaves the library while being in the locked mode. Over 300 volunteer hours were invested in the project while the usual daily library duties were still being done. Their dedication to making the library more efficient for the community doesn’t go unnoticed!
