We're making big strides to create a sustainable future for Cincinnati, including our focus on green jobs! One of our goals to support this work is to train 4,000 people in Cincinnati to take on green economy jobs by 2028. So what are green jobs? They are positions in businesses that produce goods or provide services that benefit the environment, conserve natural resources, or make production processes more environmentally friendly or use fewer natural resources. Cincinnati is celebrating the completion of this 100MW solar farm that powers our city government and thousands of homes. This is a project that has spanned two mayoral terms, two administrations, and a global pandemic. But our climate work is not done! Cincinnati now seeks partners for our next clean energy solutions.  Please find our RFP here and bring your best ideas: https://lnkd.in/ewjB9J74 Of course a project of this scale has many to thank: Deep thanks to former Mayor John Cranley, current Mayor Aftab Pureval, and Councilmember Meeka Owens for seeing this through from idea to reality. The City team included Michael Forrester, John Juech, Andrew Garth, Robert McCracken, Kevin Frank, Larry Falkin, Andrew Sampson, City Manager Sheryl Long, Virginia Tallent, and Billy Weber. The project is an example of a successful public-private partnership, with a team that was built by Ron DeLyons. We had tremendous strategic and technical support from Carla Walker, Emily Barkdoll, Sonya Suter, Alek Suni, Rushad Nanavatty, Jacob Corvidae, Stephen Abbott, Ali Rotatori, Lori Bird, Jeff Wedgeworth, Rich Bohon, and more!   #ClimateAction #CleanEnergy #Solar #RenewableEnergy #Innovation #RFP

We want to recognize the significant work of Roselawn Community Council and their recently launched safety initiative, Flood the Streets. Through this program, 20 Roselawn residents living in high-crime areas will receive free floodlight security cameras with cloud storage for a full year, thanks to the City of Cincinnati 's Safe and Clean Neighborhood Fund. These cameras will be registered with the Cincinnati Police Department to enhance community safety and prevent criminal activities. Roselawn Community Council member Vashti Onugwu presented at the City of Cincinnati's Healthy Neighborhoods Committee Wednesday with Human Services Director Deanna White and S&C Grant Coordinator Ty Wesselkamper. Thank you to Roselawn Community Council for their dedication to creating a safer Cincinnati.
