We're making big strides to create a sustainable future for Cincinnati, including our focus on green jobs! One of our goals to support this work is to train 4,000 people in Cincinnati to take on green economy jobs by 2028. So what are green jobs? They are positions in businesses that produce goods or provide services that benefit the environment, conserve natural resources, or make production processes more environmentally friendly or use fewer natural resources. Did you know that the City of Cincinnati has more than 5,000 employees working across more than 20 departments and office? This week, we're excited to spotlight one of those important teams working to support our growing and vibrant community: City of Cincinnati Dept of Community and Economic Development (DCED)! DCED serves an important role in providing financial and technical support to invest in Cincinnati neighborhoods. In 2023 alone, DCED facilitated more than $30 million total investment in community & economic development projects. Check out our post to learn more about DCED & their 2023 accomplishments!

In recognition of Juneteenth, the City of Cincinnati’s Office of Human Relations (OHR) is collaborating with community advocate and Black Is Excellence Founder, Kai Stoudemire- Williams and Fifth Third Bank on the fifth annual citywide marketing campaign, Black Is Excellence (BIE). The campaign celebrates the numerous contributions to the city of 15 of Cincinnati’s finest. The honorees will be featured on banners that will be on display downtown and in surrounding areas beginning June 1 through July 1, 2024. This visual campaign aims to acknowledge and promote diversity, inclusion and representation, and to celebrate the achievements of local Black/African Americans. It’s also a way to ensure that Black/African Americans see themselves represented truthfully and accurately in print and digital media. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gPrv2J9s
