Meet Liping, an IT Programmer Senior Analyst and this week's Team Chandler Spotlight! Liping helps support the city's Oracle application, with daily IT support to resolve any product issues and development and implementation of new features. She also works on projects related to HR and Payroll changes. Getting to collaborate with her team while being able to provide solutions and resolve business issues has become Liping's favorite part of her job in her 15 months with the city. Alisa is a Senior Planner for the city who works with applicants including developers, zoning attorneys and architects on getting entitlements for new development within the city. In her two years with the city, the best part of the job has been getting to work with the wide range of applicants, from homeowners who have very little experience with the process, to seasoned architects and attorneys. Today we celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for Villas on McQueen near McQueen Road and Chandler Boulevard. 🎉 This development marks a significant milestone as Chandler's first public housing project converted through HUD's Rental Assistance Demonstration program. Villas on McQueen represents our commitment to providing sustainable, high-quality housing options for our low- and moderate-income residents. Our City Council unanimously approved this 157-unit project to serve seniors, veterans, individuals with developmental disabilities and families. The one cent reduction brings Chandler's combined property tax rate to $1.0826 per $100 of assessed property value for fiscal year 2024-25, effective on July 1. Meet Dominic! This week's Team Chandler Spotlight is a Solid Waste Technician. Dominic may look familiar to you because he helps operate and maintain the RSWCC facility! He also helps residents with any issues regarding their refuse, recycle pickups and solid waste questions. Sometimes he faces things that haven’t come up before, but finding a solution excites Dominic as he looks forward to constant growth and leadership opportunities. The most enjoyable part of his work he says is getting to assist and build a relationship with Chandler residents to make all feel comfortable and welcomed in the city.
