For the first time ever, South Africa has advanced a dispute at the World Trade Organization to a panel level. This week SA requested the formation of two panels on the unfair measures imposed on citrus exported to the EU. The goal is to get to a fair, amicable and scientifically accurate outcome. SA and the EU differ greatly on the CBS and FCM plant health measures imposed on SA citrus. This is a historic development.
