At CHICAT, our Teaching Artists continue to ask these questions and engage in these discussions around the intersection of art and tech--or more specifically art and AI. Check out this quick important read by Nikhil Ghodke https://lnkd.in/gtNdDn4T One of our teaching artists poses this thought: On the surface introducing Nightshade may seem like a great way to protect artists, but what if we are just introducing a virus into a system? That can be irresponsible. Introducing image dirty bombs can take down entire AI systems. What happens when that's a hospital or a power grid? Programs like Nightshade may only temporarily protect a few (those that can pay --not struggling artists-- but corporations instead) and has the potential to harm many. Waiting for the courts to fix the issue may be the best option. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

Last month, CHICAT celebrated our 2023 graduates. We are inspired by their determination, perseverance, and sacrifice to make their financial future brighter. We start 2024 drawing energy from that inspiration as our classrooms - Medical Billing and Coding, Advanced Maintenance Mechanics, and Food Manufacturing Quality Control- are full of folks investing in themselves to become part of the 2024 class of CHICAT graduates. Congratulation graduates!
