"We work to understand community priorities so that projects create value," said Erica Brinker, Chaberton's Chief Commercial and Sustainability Officer. "This extends to our Chaberton Cares program, where we provide direct benefits to the communities we serve by funding local non-profit organizations. Chaberton Energy is proud to be partnering with Sussex County, Delaware, to develop a floating solar project at their Wolfe Neck Regional Wastewater Facility. The floatovoltaic array will be the first of its kind in the region. In addition to supplying locally generated clean energy, the project will also provide the wastewater plant with benefits such as a reduction in algae growth in the lagoon. Noria Energy, specializing in floating solar, will be co-developing the project. Read more:

Last week at RE+ Mid-Atlantic in Philadelphia, Chaberton CEO Stefano Ratti moderated the closing roundtable on "What's Next for Community Energy in the Mid-Atlantic?" The panelists engaged in a lively discussion, covering a range of topics including: ⚡ The potential for using AI in siting solar projects and expediting the interconnection process ⚡ The viability of and use cases for opt-out community choice aggregation models ⚡ The need for utilities to modernize their systems and processes to support distributed generation assets and the clean energy transition Unsurprisingly, when polled, the audience identified the top three challenges to advancing community energy as interconnection issues, unfavorable local ordinances, and inadequate state policies. Despite these challenges, we are confident that together we can make significant progress for our industry, its customers, and the clean energy economy. Kudos to these experts for sharing their experience and insights: Monica Carey, Pennsylvania Program Director, Solar United Neighbors Nate Owen, CEO, Ampion, PBC. Realizing the full potential of a clean energy transition requires us to prioritize equity and inclusivity. Chaberton is proud to be part of the solution with our #communitysolar projects that allow those who can't install solar of their own to access clean, affordable energy through a subscription model.

🌟 At Chaberton, we’re dedicated to engaging with the communities where we develop solar projects. 🌟 The Maryland Community Action Partnership recently held their annual human services conference in Ocean City, Maryland, aiming to build bridges for community impact. Chaberton's Lauren Barchi attended to learn about the communities served by MCAP's 19 Community Action Agencies (CAAs) and connect with their leaders, fostering collaborations to amplify Chaberton's impact. MCAP champions underprivileged communities across Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia to ensure their voices are heard at all levels. The conference provided valuable insights and practical tools to enhance Chaberton's community initiatives, particularly in promoting environmental stewardship and social equity. This directly aligns with our Chaberton Cares program that provides $5,000 in community support for every new megawatt of community solar we develop. Together, we can create a brighter, more equitable future for all. 🌍💡 #ChabertonCares #CommunityAction #Sustainability #SolarEnergy
