Apex director of environmental permitting Goni Iskali grew up surrounded by animals thanks to her veterinarian father. It turns out that passion runs in the family: in college, she switched from pre-med to ecology once she took her first biology classes. Today, thanks to time with the National Park Service and at Texas State University, Iskali is a foremost expert on bat conservation—working to ensure Apex’s clean energy projects are sited with minimal environmental impact. 🌱

One of the most compelling arguments for the energy transition is the massive potential for job creation it offers—and the investment and opportunities that have already emerged from it. In less than two years, companies have announced more than $360 billion in investment that generated nearly 313,000 new jobs nationwide. From manufacturing to construction, clean energy is catalyzing an industrial renaissance for the United States.

John Carlo Erejer, IT Associate — “I was born and raised in the Philippines. I would describe myself as positive, hardworking, patient, dedicated, and flexible. We Filipinos pride ourselves on these characteristics. I’ve worked in IT for almost 11 years at this point. Much of the technology at Apex, we don’t have yet in the Philippines. When I first arrived, I recognized I needed to master this system and these machines to fully support the team. That’s why I work: to gain new knowledge. I have learned something from each project I’ve tackled so far. I’ve recently taken on the responsibility of setting up new hires’ laptops and their access to the Apex suite of tools during their orientation. At first, I was very nervous: I’ve always been more of a technical guy and communication has never been my strong suit. Now, after a few months, I’m connecting with them as if they were friends. I see myself in them: just starting off on a new journey at Apex.” #LifeAtApex
