Last month, representatives from fourteen companies in technology, communications, electric utilities, insurance, and engineering joined members of five federal agencies for a roundtable discussion on advancing #climateresilience in the United States. This convening, hosted by C2ES, Resilience Rising, and the Resilience Roadmap project at The Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability identified levers that federal agencies and companies are using to advance climate resilience and a broad desire for a shared action agenda to accelerate these efforts. In her latest blog, C2ES Director of Climate Resilience and Sustainability Amy Bailey shares insights from the convening, highlighting the need to align public and private efforts to build resilience. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e86Dficr

#WebinarAlert🔥: Join C2ES for "Planning for Change: Insights on the State of Real Economy Corporate Transition Planning," where we'll launch our latest report on the current state of low-carbon transition planning. While thousands of companies have set ambitious 2030 and 2050 climate goals, there is a lack of accountability to meet goals and a lack of consistency across corporate reporting. With this report and project, C2ES will identify what makes a credible plan and how companies can embrace the unknown in communicating their plans to achieve their goals. The U.S. industrial sector is responsible for a whopping 30% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. Why? The intense heat needed to make essentials like steel, concrete, and chemicals. But here's the promising part: Nuclear energy could help slash these emissions. Curious about how advanced nuclear technologies could accelerate industrial decarbonization? Check out our latest Closer Look brief. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eGi2B4fQ #nuclearenergy #advancednuclear #industrialdecarbonization #energypolicy

C2ES VP for International Strategies Kaveh Guilanpour delivered the keynote address at the Canadian National Conference of the World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM), with a focus on the environment this year.
It was a great privilege and honour to speak at the Canadian National Conference of the World Community for Christian Meditation. If we are to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, we need to move from incremental to transformational levels of climate action. And as wise people throughout the ages have said, to transform the world one is well advised to start with oneself. The great faith traditions have a lot of wisdom to offer in this regard, in particular on the importance of meditation and how to practise it. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e84k-tuK
