The Coalition for Environment, Equity & Resilience (CEER) is a coalition made up of 25 nonprofit member organizations that came together after Hurricane Harvey to advance policy solutions for our most pressing environmental issues. CEER aims to drive community voices into decision-making processes to promote equity and resilience by emphasizing land, water, air, waste, and housing policies that reduce human exposure to pollution and strengthen environmental conservation. We envision a region that is equitable, environmentally sustainable and economically strong where residents have the opportunity to live, work, learn, play and pray free from environmental hazards. To make that vision a reality, we advocate for public and private investment and policy that cleans up hazards that contaminate our air, water, and land, while at the same time prevent or reduce flooding. Our set of policy solutions is gathered in our eight point plan, found on www.ceerhouston.org.

What: Protest for drainage and sewage justice outside of Houston City Hall by members of the Northeast Action Collective When: Rally at 9:30 Press Conference at 10 am, TOMORROW, Wed., June 5 Where: Houston City Hall, 901 Bagby St. Who: Northeast Action Collective, West Street Recovery, & Bayou City Waterkeeper The NAC will hold a press conference and rally to announce budget amendments for this year's budget. Last year the city passed an amendment increasing Local Drainage Program (LDP) spending by $20 million, But.... the increase never actually happened! We need the council to pass the increase again, work with the NAC to hold the finance department and DPW accountable, and pass an amendment to create a Private Sewer Lateral Fund (PSL).
