Earlier this week a tattered piece of paper fell out of my notebook (see comments for visual). I've been carrying it around for over 20 years. It reads, “Success is never final. Failure is never fatal. Courage is what counts.” - Sir Winston Churchill.   I am beyond proud of the entire CaringBridge team as we hit the proverbial migration cutover 'button' yesterday at 7am CT. 25 + years of tech debt gone. One CaringBridge experience for all. Capabilities that now easily allow CaringBridge to be integrated into healthcare systems at diagnosis and discharge. Game changer. The team had the courage to persevere. Make it happen. Never focused on the failures that were not fatal. But instead embraced them, making things better through the learnings. And remembered that what got us here wouldn’t fulfill our vision going forward - that the successes will never be final.   So today we celebrate a milestone SUCCESS as we embark on a new CaringBridge that better serves our users. The caregivers and patients that are overwhelmed. Our maniacal focus on keeping it simple will meet them right where they need. Building on our legacy of meeting people in that first moment of overwhelm - diagnosis. And then the overwhelm of Communication. And meeting them in new ways across Capturing their journey to help heal, Coordinating help because that's often the most difficult thing to ask for, and activating their Community to feel less alone.   This was a TEAM effort. Not one person didn't touch what you see on CaringBridge.org and in our new app on the iOS App Store.    THANK YOU TEAM for the tireless effort, team work, collaboration, and rumbles. It led us here. And will ensure that our vision is met - that no one goes through a health journey alone. #proud #teamwork #perseverance #solvingcaregiveroverwhelm

CaringBridge was on Capitol Hill today to engage with members of Congress on federal policy solutions that will address social isolation and loneliness for caregivers. Meetings included The Coalition to End Social Isolation & Loneliness, Senator Tina Smith (D-MN), Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT), and Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE).

CaringBridge CEO, Tia Newcomer, and Dr. Kate Wolin, CaringBridge Chief Science Officer, participated today in the 2024 Global Loneliness Awareness Summit, hosted by The Coalition to End Social Isolation & Loneliness and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. They represented caregiver voices, along with other thought leaders and policymakers, discussing the role of social connection as a catalyst.
