About us
Supporting unpaid carers, enhancing lives across London. Carers Network is an independent charity dedicated to supporting unpaid carers in central London. We have a proud 30-year history of being on the side of carers through their most difficult times. We are the carers centre that provides specialist support for carers across the City of Westminster, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, and we combine a highly skilled, efficient and professional staff team with a highly personal approach – respecting every carer we work with as an individual. We were the first carers centre to run a specialist project to support carers looking after someone at the end of their life. Find out more at www.carers-network.org.uk

“There are many challenges as a carer, but also many blessings. Being able to care for my mum is the thing I’m most proud of.” This #CarersWeek, we want carers’ voices to be heard, so we had a chat with local carer Carmel – who looked after her mum for 6 and a half years, and now cares for her brother – about what it’s like to be a carer. Carmel thinks the main issue as a carer is the lack of recognition. Carers need to be recognised for the difficulties they are experiencing, respected for all they are doing, provided with information, and given the support they need to care safely. #CarersNetwork #NoOneShouldCareAlone #casestudy #CarersWeek2024 #recognition #UnpaidCarers #carers #caring

Did you know that 51% of carers take over a year to identify themselves as carers, and therefore they don’t access the support they need? 71% of carers stated that seeing themselves primarily as a family member or friend was a barrier to identifying themselves as a carer. #CarersWeek helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support. This Carers Week, we want to highlight the invaluable contributions of carers across the UK and ensure their voices are heard! #CarersNetwork #NoOneShouldCareAlone #unpaidcarers #carers #carerawareness #carersvoice #awareness
