About us
CAP Tulsa, a community action agency, is focused on interrupting the cycle of poverty. We provide high-quality child care and early education services for young children, as well as a range of supportive services designed to improve the economic status of their parents. CAP Tulsa is one of the largest anti-poverty agencies in Oklahoma. We believe every child and every family deserves equitable opportunities to succeed. This is achieved by empowering low-income families with the education and tools they need to break the cycle of poverty. CAP Tulsa provides the support and guidance with early childhood education and comprehensive enrichment programs for the entire family. CAP Tulsa specifically focuses on a two generation approach that aims not only to prepare young children for future success in school, but also their parents through programs designed to increase parenting skills, employability and earning potential. CAP Tulsa serves nearly 2,000 of Tulsa's low-income children in 10 early childhood centers across the county. CAP employs more than 600 staff members and coordinates the work of many vital volunteers. Our preschoolers are becoming recycling pros this summer! ♻️ At our Eugene Field school last month, Josh from the City of Tulsa stopped by and taught the kids that paper is the most important recyclable product, while plastic bags (like the ones from Walmart) are not. The highlight? The Recycle Relay, of course. 🏃 It's a fun activity where the kids run to pick up objects and decide whether they are recyclable or trash. We're so proud of these little learners and we appreciate Josh volunteering his time to teach them how to help improve our environment. 🌍💚 #CAPTulsa #SummerU #Recycle #RecyclingRocks #CityOfTulsa #EarlyLearning

How AWESOME is this?! Thank you so much for supporting our mission of helping families succeed in creative and meaningful ways! We love to see it 💚
Katherine Pickop, our dedicated Family Support Specialist who serves at the CAP Tulsa's Sand Springs site, recently orchestrated a family clothing swap. Families were encouraged to bring in clothes, toys and household items that their children have outgrown, and in exchange, pick out 'new-to-them' items from the collection of other families. A wonderful initiative promoting sharing and sustainability! #FamilySupport #MentalHealthAndMore #MORE #ODMHSAS Adam Andreassen

We are thrilled to have two of our CAP Tulsa staff, George Rivas and Luis Rivas, showcase their musical skills for our little learners throughout the summer! 🎸🎵 Last week at our McClure school, the Rivas brothers were joined by flutist Christina Filippakos, a Behavioral Health Specialist with Family & Children's Services, and they sang preschool favorites such as Baby Shark, Wheels on the Bus, and Simon Says. The children enjoyed the cool sounds of the instruments, singing along, and dancing their hearts out! We appreciate all three volunteering their time and sharing their talents!💚 #CAPTulsa #SummerU #Music #EarlyLearning #Instruments #Guitar #Flute

CAP Tulsa’s first Black/African American EEG (Employee Engagement Group) meeting earlier this month was a huge success! There was a soul food soirèe, a fun connector activity, and an introduction to what to expect from upcoming employee-led groups that will assist with creating an inclusive workplace culture and support strategic goals. A special thanks to everyone who attended! #CAPTulsa #EmployeeEngagement #EEG #InclusiveWorkplace
