Another great day at #AHIP with numerous sessions focused on technology innovation driving healthcare outcomes. "Effective AI Utilization: Use Cases to Reduce Friction for Consumers and Providers" was a particularly interesting discussion with Vardini Vishwanathan, Maggie Helms, and Chris Coogan. HealthPartners and Cambia Health Solutions are doing some cool things with AI to make life easier for both providers and members, including virtual assistants for internal use and improving price transparency. Here are just a few interesting takeaways of many from the AI-focused conversation: - AI efforts that are focused solely on cost savings can easily lead to missteps. Important for vision and strategy to provide focus for investment. - Minimize trust erosion by targeting lower risk use cases of AI-supported human rather than jumping to standalone AI-member interactions - Much of the difficulty and cost involved in AI solutions is tied to improving data modeling, quality, and governance.
