Empowering the Next Generation of Student-Athletes | Mental Health Advocate Looking to Make an Impact

On January 24th, ZIYNX partnered with Opendorse to execute 100 deals in 200 days with college athletes competing in women's sports. Today, I'm thrilled to announce that we have achieved this goal ahead of schedule, in just 152 days. Below are images of all 100 incredible female athletes we've partnered with, representing 74 different colleges and universities across 14 sports. I couldn't be more proud and grateful for my team. They put in the work every day, embodying kindness and purpose, and they inspire me to work even harder. To our valued partners, thank you for your unwavering support, belief in us, and commitment to being part of the long term solution. This is just the beginning. We live in a world of instant gratification and checkbox accomplishments, but real change takes time. As a proud father of a 14-year-old daughter who plays both club soccer and lacrosse, I see firsthand how much our girls need us now more than ever. I urge you to continue your support no matter whom it is with so this initiative doesn't become another empty pledge due to the lack of immediate results. We are all in, and our female athlete community of almost 2,000 strong and growing by the day is about to let everyone know "We've Always Been Here". Kelsey Cuje Randy Paul, M.S. Fourth Year Merit Scholar Student at USC Dornsife/Marshall/Viterbi

I am excited to share a quick academic and professional update! May was a significant month for me academically, professionally, and personally. Last month, I completed my third year of studies at the University of Southern California and continued my internship with USC Athletics as the Intern for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion under Dr. Julie Rousseau. We kicked off our summer programming by planning, organizing, and facilitating the Black Student-Athlete Summit! From May 23rd to May 26th, USC had the privilege of hosting over 2,000 Black student-athletes and professionals, representing over 185 campuses across the US. Over four days of programming, we successfully navigated an ever-changing campus environment, ensuring that all our attendees were safe, supported, and seen, allowing them to grow both personally and professionally. This achievement was no small feat. USC Athletics DEI is incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and supportive group of campus partners who were instrumental in the success of the Black Student-Athlete Summit. This accomplishment would not have been possible without the commitment and hard work of our staff, professionals, and volunteers. Your dedication to the well-being of our student-athletes is deeply appreciated. A special thank you to all our campus partners who played a pivotal role in bringing this to life. Here are four things I learned from the Summit: 1. Creating a safe and inclusive community where everyone feels comfortable sharing their stories requires collective effort and commitment from all members. 2. Engaging in continuous learning, both through educational programs and personal experiences at events like the Black Student Athlete Summit, is essential for personal and professional development. This commitment to growth allows us to better support and uplift our communities. 3. Successfully managing large-scale events requires flexibility, the ability to adapt swiftly to unexpected changes, and the willingness to seek help and collaborate with others when challenges arise. 4. Effective allyship involves active listening and engaging in meaningful dialogue, prioritizing understanding others' perspectives over being understood oneself. Lastly, I would like to give a huge shoutout to my boss and mentor, Dr. Julie Rousseau, aka Dr. J! Putting on the Summit with you was an amazing experience, and I feel so lucky to learn from you each and every day. Through our work together, I know I am truly making a difference on USC's campus and in collegiate sports. Fight on and stay tuned for more updates!

Empowering the Next Generation of Student-Athletes | Mental Health Advocate Looking to Make an Impact

Last week, we filmed what I believe might be our most powerful piece of content yet. It was a raw and genuine two-hour conversation about mental health, featuring four vulnerable student-athletes and an equally candid two-time Football All-American, Super Bowl Champion, and College Football Hall of Famer who has been through some shit. I could not be more proud of Aaron Taylor, Ashton Ortega, Mya Georgiadis Chidinma Okafor, Fujika Nimmo for letting their gloves down so they can show others how to raise theirs. The life skills / personal and professional development internship program (ZIYNX Academy) we are launching this fall for our student-athletes and collegiate partners is going to transform lives and connect with our kids like never before.    Why? ✅ We’ve earned our community’s trust through time and tremendous effort. ✅ We've created a safe space where we don't judge but listen, learn, and strategize together. ✅ We’ve shown empathy and genuine concern for their well being regardless of their sport, school, on field performance, or social media following.   ✅ We’ve brought in partners like Onrise that have real equity in the space and show up not one month a year, but year round. ✅ We've invested our own money and resources into creating initiatives that thoughtfully and in a relatable way raise the awareness of issues affecting our youth:  First Generation U, The Art Of, Strength In Numbers, This is My Testimony, Starting From X, Beyond the Stats, and The Portal just to name a few. Most importantly, I’m blessed to have a team of dedicated individuals (my relentless dawgs) and a rapidly growing community looking to make an impact. We don’t make empty promises or superficial social media posts. Instead, we put in the hard work and let our actions speak for themselves. Authentic.  Impactful.  Different. I’ve been on LinkedIn for over 10 years has it been 1 yr “growing” repeated 10 times? I remember starting my profile when I was in the process of becoming a District Manager LI was just an “online resume” at the time and one of the things you did if you were serious about being a business owner My first 9 years on here was repetitive and inconsistent Along with many pivots, different industries, and little direction Last year after publishing my book for student-athletes, I dialed in on my personal brand. And I become more focused and more consistent than I ever had been My recent post of me speaking at this year’s Black Student-Athlete Summit, Inc. was the first post of mine that has received more than 100 “likes” Of course vanity metrics like that don’t say everything….but they say something… I’m starting to recognize a platform surge on LI similar to what happened on IG in 2015 Online isn’t just a resume anymore, it’s our reputation I have my boat in the water, because high tides raises all boats Do you have yours in? #PersonalBranding #PeakPerformance #LinkedinSports
