Whitacre. Jason comes to Hephzibah as an experienced nonprofit executive having begun his career in the private sector. Most recently, he was Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Schuler Education Foundation. Founded in 1897, Hephzibah is the oldest social service agency in Oak Park, IL (outside Chicago) with a mission to help children thrive and families flourish through a continuum of community-based programs that include residential services for children at Hephzibah Home, foster care and adoption services, comprehensive services for children and families in crisis and after-school, and summer camp services on a sliding scale for families of all income levels. Programs are funded and regulated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Controller will serve as a leader and is a recognized Accounting, Reporting, Treasury, and Internal Control System expert with experience and competency in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and governmental accounting standards (GASB) as well as HUD regulatory environment.
