From hiring fairs with a range of companies from Fortune 500s to exciting start ups, to scholarships, to job-seeker skills training, B2B provides assistance to the military community never at any cost. We support active duty, transitioning, veterans, members of the guard and reserve, and dependents and have never, nor will we ever, charged a cent. Our goal is to provide streamlined assistance to get our community into competitive careers. Our three-tiered approach focuses on building technical skills recruiters recognize, providing job-seeker skills training, and finally facilitating connections with the nation’s best companies. Next Friday, July 19th starting at 12 PM PT is Boots to Books virtual hiring fair in collaboration with ACT Now Education! The virtual hiring fairs are hosted through Zoom Events' innovative platform, and they allow job seekers to experience a hiring fair entirely from home! At the free virtual event, attendees will be able to explore company booths, speak with recruiters live via text and video chat, and apply to open roles. Fantastic companies like TEKsystems, the Bureau of Land Management, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and more will be in attendance looking to HIRE from the military community!     All too often individuals in the military community struggle with PTS, TBI, and substance abuse, and Avalon Action Alliance is doing something about it. If you are looking for resources for individuals struggling, or may need them yourself, join team Boots to Books and Avalon Action Alliance virtually the Monday after next, June 10th at 10 AM PT! We are hosting a free (like everything we do) event for individuals in or close to the military community to learn about the signs of PTS, TBI, and substance abuse as well as what resources Avalon Action Alliance provides and how to take advantage of them. This is a great opportunity for individuals to become better resources in the community themselves, and the amazing team at Avalon Action Alliance will be on the call to answer questions, and help you do so!     This is the last week to apply to TWO different Boots to Books scholarships!   First, our scholarship in partnership with Google will provide recipients access to Google Career Certificates in cybersecurity, data analytics, digital marketing and E-commerce, IT support, project management, and UX design at no cost! Additionally, our scholarship recipients will get access to job search support tools and a consortium of 150+ top employers.   The link to apply is in the comments and applications close at the end of this week!   Second, on June 1st Boots to Books will announce the recipients of our JET-P (Junior Enlisted Transition Program) pilot! This program is 8-weeks long and entails receiving a free certification that aligns with the recipient's career goals, resume and interview support, networking opportunities, and some structure in the job search! Like everything we do, there is no cost whatsoever; however, recipients should be prepared to dedicate two hours per week over eight weeks to the program.   This program runs entirely virtually, will meet occasionally on weekends, and is only open to E1-E5s transitioning from the service in the next 18 months. If that sounds like you, or you lead a group of junior enlisted, help them by sharing this free resource! The link is in the comments for this as well!   So what are you waiting for? During the event, Maks will share about his journey transitioning from the Marine Corps to Bain & Company to launching his own venture, and the valuable lessons he’s learned about entrepreneurship.
