  • Help us congratulate Tim Vaughn for being honored with the Gold Leadership Award 👏! Over the past nine years, Tim has helped Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina by serving as a volunteer in the classroom, board member, board chairman and an investor. His contributions have helped lead to a statewide consolidation of Junior Achievement offices, an increase in over 16,000 students in the last 3 years and tripling the net assets of the organization.

South Carolina Junior Achievement Volunteer Receives Top National Honor Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina (JA) announced that Tim Vaughn has been chosen from among more than one hundred thousand U.S. volunteers as one of eleven recipients of the organization’s most prestigious national award for volunteerism, the Gold Leadership Award. Junior Achievement’s Gold Leadership Award honors volunteer excellence, presented in recognition of leadership in supporting and expanding JA’s student impact, resources, operational excellence and sustainability. The Gold Leadership Awards honor the recipients’ JA volunteer service during the 2022-23 school year. “Our local business community’s support of JA is critical to achieving our mission, to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in the global economy,” said Casey Pash president of Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina. “Tim Vaughn, President and Chief Operating Officer at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is a remarkable example of that spirit of dedication and service to others. In a very real way, he helps South Carolina JA students get the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices.” Over the past nine years, Tim has helped Junior Achievement by serving as a volunteer in the classroom, board member, board chairman, and an investor. His contributions have helped lead to a statewide consolidation of Junior Achievement offices, an increase in over 16,000 students in the last 3 years and tripling the net assets of the organization. Tim believes in the boundless possibilities of the work of Junior Achievement here in the Palmetto State. Junior Achievement’s entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and work readiness programs are delivered nationwide—typically in classrooms during the school day, by volunteer role models from the local business community.

  • Help us congratulate 🎉 Earlene Walker, a BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina account advocate, who was named the World Class Agent of the Year for her dedication and care to our members. She goes above and beyond to ensure every caller feels heard, supported, and satisfied. Whether it's resolving an issue or providing clarity, Earlene's diligence shines through. 👏 “I’m still in shock that out of 30,000 customer service representatives across all of North America I was chosen as Agent of the Year. This means a lot to me that the members I helped gave me good reviews to the survey team. I’m very honored by the kind words the members spoke about me. I tried to treat each caller as if it were my own family member and helped them in any way I could to get their issue resolved. Sometimes I would stay on the caller longer than normal, making multiple calls to providers or other departments so the members did not have to do that.” — Earlene Walker, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina account advocate and World Class Agent of the Year The Service Quality Measurement Group (SQM) selects the Agent of the Year based on customer satisfaction. This is the 11th year in a row that our employees were honored. Read more: https://bit.ly/4eoMBvQ.
