I continue to be impressed by the incredible Ultrasound Surgical Visualization & Guidance team (BK Medical), who are bringing innovative, active imaging ultrasound solutions that can elevate surgical procedures, supporting clinicians with critical decision-making. Case in point: Globally, there are more than one million cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) surgeries each year. The use of intraoperative ultrasound (iUS) effectively allows surgeons to visualize biliary and vascular anatomy throughout laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedures with a non-invasive and non-radiating method. Thrilled to share that my journey as General Manager of the GE HealthCare Ultrasound Surgical Visualization & Guidance business (BK Medical) is off to a great start. The most populous region of the world, Asia Pacific, continues to make progressive strides in advancing oncology healthcare without limits for its individual citizens as disease states continue to evolve.  This week regional distributors from several ASPAC countries joined the GE HealthCare Surgical Visualization& Guidance global team in Kyoto, Japan, with purpose. Exploring the growth driven by improved oncological interventional and surgical outcomes leveraging fusion & guidance technologies, powered by #AI leveraged real-time imaging, was our focus as we expand our care pathways reach within Urology, General Surgery and Neurosurgery/Spine throughout ASPAC.  The time together was underscored via an empowering clinical presentation on Neurosurgery via Professor & Chairman Dr. Aliasgar Moiyadi, from Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, India; as we continue supporting Neurosurgeons across the globe during #GrayMay. GE HealthCare celebrates & supports surgeons, clinical & administrative teams, and the National Brain Tumor Society committed to the responsibility & care of patients affected by brain tumors.  Many thanks to the #SVG team of Didier Bohin, Dietmar Seifriedsberger, Dennis Roy, Xiao Ting LIM, Kota Rohin Kumar, Tine Lucas Jørgensen, Kim Theill and 千葉一茂, for an event to remember.
