According to Gartner, only 46% of employees are satisfied with their career growth. This statistic underscores a significant opportunity for leaders and companies to unlock the potential within their workforce—especially when the talent is already within the organization. At BetterUp, our data reveals a troubling trend: since 2020, employee mindsets crucial for innovation, productivity, and performance have been in decline. Without proactive changes, these vital mindsets won't improve on their own. What can leaders and companies do to help catapult career growth and unlock potential? Here are three key strategies: ⚡Tap into employees' purpose and values: Aligning roles and responsibilities with employees' core values and purpose can ignite passion and drive. When employees find meaning in their work, their engagement and performance naturally increase. ⚡Enable managers to have strong career development conversations: Equip managers with the skills and tools needed to have meaningful career development discussions. These conversations can uncover aspirations, identify strengths, and map out paths for growth, ensuring employees feel supported and valued. ⚡Communicate growth opportunities clearly with your employees: Transparency is key. Clearly communicating available growth opportunities helps employees envision their future within the company. It fosters a culture of continuous learning and development, motivating employees to take charge of their career trajectories. By focusing on these strategies, leaders can help reverse the decline in critical employee mindsets and foster an environment where everyone can thrive. https://lnkd.in/e98JpY7t

As we welcome the first day of summer, it's the perfect time to reflect on achieving a healthy work life integration. At BetterUp, we believe that finding balance is key to personal and professional fulfillment. Here are some tips to help you enjoy the sunny season while staying productive: 1. Set clear boundaries: Define your work hours and personal time. Communicate these boundaries with your team to ensure everyone respects your schedule. 2. Prioritize self-care: Make time for activities that recharge you, whether it's a morning walk, yoga, or simply enjoying a good book by the pool. Self-care is essential for maintaining energy and focus. 3. Leverage flexible work options: If your company offers flexible work arrangements, use them to your advantage. A change of scenery can boost creativity and productivity. 4. Stay connected: Summer is a great time to strengthen relationships with family and friends. Plan regular catch-ups and outings to nurture these important connections. 5. Set summer goals: Identify what you want to achieve professionally and personally this summer. Setting clear, achievable goals can keep you motivated and give you a sense of accomplishment. 6. Unplug regularly: Make it a habit to disconnect from work-related technology during your off-hours. This helps you recharge and return to work with renewed focus and creativity. By embracing these practices, you can enjoy the best of both worlds this summer.

Aicha Evans, CEO of Zoox, powerfully reminded us of the “man in the arena” mantra in her #Uplift2024 session on overcoming fear and embracing courageous leadership: "Do I want to enjoy the thrill of victory? Then I have to be prepared for the agony of defeat. Don’t be one of those timid souls in the stands." Embracing this mindset can transform the way we approach challenges and opportunities in our lives. What does it take to overcome fear? Here are 6 key insights to help you bring courage into your day-to-day: 1. Acknowledge your fear: Recognizing and accepting your fears is the first step towards overcoming them.. 2. Set realistic goals: Break down your larger goals into smaller, manageable steps. This makes daunting tasks seem less overwhelming and helps build confidence as you achieve each milestone. 3. Focus on your why: Understanding your deeper motivations can fuel your courage. 4. Seek support: Surround yourself with supportive people who believe in you. Their encouragement and perspective can provide the boost you need to face your fears and persevere. 5. Embrace failure as a learning opportunity: View failures not as setbacks but as valuable lessons. 6. Practice self-compassion: Be kind to yourself. Understand that courage involves vulnerability and that it's okay to make mistakes. By integrating these insights into your daily life, you can cultivate the courage to step out of the stands and into the arena. https://lnkd.in/g_Jyh2xV

The The Conference Board recently released a survey revealing that 90% of CHROs are confident in AI's potential to enhance productivity, innovation, and creativity within the workforce. As we stand on the brink of this transformative era, leaders play a critical role in preparing their teams to harness the full power of AI. ➡ Here are three strategies leaders can implement to upskill their workforce for an AI-driven future: 📚Develop AI literacy programs: Ensure that all employees, regardless of their role, have a fundamental understanding of AI. By demystifying AI and making it accessible, organizations can empower their workforce to leverage AI tools effectively and confidently. 🧪 Encourage experimentation and curiosity: Create an environment that fosters curiosity and experimentation with AI. Encourage employees to explore AI-driven projects and provide opportunities for career development that integrate AI skills. This not only boosts innovation but also helps individuals find new ways to contribute to the organization. ⚡Support and create AI expertise roles: Invest in roles that specialize in AI to bring deep expertise into the organization. These roles can serve as internal champions and resources, guiding the broader team in integrating AI into their workflows and driving strategic initiatives. By prioritizing these strategies, leaders can ensure their teams are not only prepared for the AI revolution but also positioned to thrive in it. https://lnkd.in/giQrx5FQ

🌈 As we celebrate Pride Month, it's crucial to recognize that true inclusion goes beyond surface-level gestures. It's about creating environments where every individual feels seen, heard, and valued in all their complexity. ⚡ BetterUp research underscores the importance of multi-dimensional inclusion in fostering truly inclusive workplaces. 📈 Our studies reveal that when organizations embrace diversity in its fullest sense—encompassing race, gender, sexual orientation, and more—employees experience a 30% increase in engagement and a 20% boost in innovation. These environments not only welcome diverse perspectives but also actively promote understanding and collaboration among all team members. 🏳️🌈 Inclusion is more than metrics; it's a mindset. It requires us to look beyond labels and understand the unique experiences and challenges each person brings to the table. It's about creating safe spaces where individuals can express their authentic selves without fear of judgment or exclusion.
