Yesterday Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, Space Center Houston, and University of Houston-Clear Lake, sponsored and hosted a job fair in the lobby of the BAHEP office at 1150 Gemini St. The job fair was an outstanding success with 22 employers represented and over 350 registered job seekers attending. A huge thank you to Space Center Houston, the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and the BAHEP staff for their support and hard work in making this a huge success as we strive to provide opportunities for area job seekers and bolster the region's workforce.

We are thrilled to announce that The Boeing Company has generously donated $250,000 to support relief efforts in Houston and New Mexico following the devastating impact of Hurricane Beryl. A generous portion of these funds will go directly to Harris County Precinct 2’s nonprofit Precinct2gether - to assist with providing cooling centers, repairs, and other assistance throughout Harris County. See the attached flyer to register for the Precinct2gether event on July 24 from 4:30 - 6 pm at Bayou Oaks Country Club, for an evening of appetizers and drinks to support the ongoing efforts of Harris County Precinct 2. It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, a steadfast friend to BAHEP and our region. She tirelessly represented her district, constituents, and what she believed in. She leaves a legacy of leadership and commitment to her constituents will be profoundly missed. Honoring the Legacy of Dorothy Vaughan and the Women of Apollo BAHEP President Brian Freedman and Membership Director Harriet Pilgrim had the privilege of attending a dedication ceremony at Johnson Space Center in honor of Dorothy Vaughan and the remarkable women of Apollo. This historic event, held on the eve of the 55th Anniversary of Apollo 11's lunar landing, celebrated the incredible contributions of these pioneering women to the success of NASA's Apollo missions and their lasting impact on space exploration. It was a moving tribute to their groundbreaking work and an inspiring reminder of the vital role that women have played in shaping the history of spaceflight. Thank you to everyone who continues to honor and celebrate these trailblazers' legacy.
