We are thrilled to announce that our Student2Government program has been nationally recognized by the National Association of Counties (NACO) in the Civic Education and Public Information Best in Category award! This recognition highlights the program’s impact on fostering a culture of civic leadership among teens. Student2Government is dedicated to inspiring youth to become agents of positive change. It empowers them to make a difference in their communities through volunteerism, public service, and active participation in the electoral process. Last month, we celebrated the groundbreaking of the long-awaited East Harris County Health & Social Service Hub in the Channelview area! This week, we had the honor of remembering an extraordinary young man. Jarvon "Veezy" Coles, a star football player with the North Shore High School Mustangs, held a 4.2 GPA. He planned to attend Lamar University as an honor student and top athlete. Though his life was taken too soon at 18 years old, his legacy will forever inspire and uplift the community. A bench in his memory is now at North Shore Park. It is near the trail in the direction of the North Shore youth football field. The park is located at 14440 Wallisville Rd, Houston, TX 77049. Jarvon's spirit will forever shine.

Since the start of this year, Harris County volunteers and road crews in Precinct 2 have removed at least 1,350 signs, more than 1,000 of which were taken down by Deputy Thomas Berry, the liaison between the sheriff’s department and other local police in the district. Part of Berry’s role is addressing nuisance complaints in the precinct, stretching roughly 560 square miles. https://lnkd.in/gmSEneSt
