To meet the expected growth of the membership, construction of a new 19.5-acre substation is underway to replace the 345-kilovolt (kV) substation at Leland Olds Station located near Stanton, North Dakota. When a transformer at the Sidney, Nebraska substation was deemed unrepairable, a spare was found and relocated. The spare transformer is not an exact match for the failed one, so the Basin Electric team has been developing a plan to have it energized by August. Read more: https://bit.ly/45V3YR4

Construction continues at Pioneer Generation Station Phase IV, Basin Electric’s largest generation project being built in North Dakota since the 1980s. Following the arrival of the Unit 4 turbine and generator, foundations were prepped for equipment setting, and the turbine and generator were set on the foundation.
