AWAR is the thought leader for gender diversity in aviation.
About us
AWAR is a non-profit organization whose mission is to engage with CEOs and other senior executives to build awareness and develop actionable strategies to promote the development and advancement of women leaders in the aviation industry. We are committed to the belief that engagement with our senior male colleagues is critical to driving change for women in our business. AWAR was founded in 2015 by Amelia Anderson, formerly Managing Director and Assistant Treasurer of American Airlines, and Dana Barta, Executive Director, Capital Markets, at Morgan Stanley. Since its inception, AWAR has grown rapidly, with our signature roundtable “Leaders’ Luncheons” held annually in Dublin, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, and numerous other panels and roundtable events. AWAR continues to be an all-volunteer effort. Our Board of Directors, Steering Committee, and AWAR Ambassadors are all highly successful aviation professionals who bring passion and strategic vision to our shared pursuit of the AWAR mission.

As we approach the 80th anniversary of D-Day, a historic operation during World War II, we honor the sacrifices and achievements of those who came before us, on the battlefield and on the home front. In May 1944, weeks before D-Day, Boeing employees celebrated the rollout of the 5,000th B-17 Flying Fortress built by Boeing since Pearl Harbor. (Boeing photo)

In recognition of INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY (MARCH 8), we share a quote from the inspiration of Billie Jean King. " Whatever you care about, you can make a difference. You really can.
