During Welcome Day for this year’s SPARK interns, local students met withdepartment leaders, spoke with previous program members and toured our command center and indoor substation. As SPARK participants, students receive advanced STEM education through hands-on learning and mentorship from our employees. They also get the chance to explore their interest in STEM fields and develop professional skills, opening pathways into the energy field at a young age and helping shape the next generation of leaders.

Our Eco Team recently participated in a volunteer event with ReClam the Bay to safeguard our coastal waters. During the event, our volunteers cleaned and bagged shells, which will be used in upwells to create habitats for oysters and clams. This contributes to enhancing water quality and securing shorelines in Barnegat Bay. #HabitatRestoration #MarineConservation #EcoFriendly

We're proud to support South Jersey municipalities through the Sustainable Communities Grant Program. Since 2020, we've invested $310,000 in sustainability projects that enhance community resilience and environmental stewardship. The Elsinboro Township Fire Department utilized their 2021 grant to purchase a utility terrain vehicle, improving emergency response capabilities in rural and riverfront areas. Check out our video to see the program's impact firsthand, and learn more about the program and the application process: https://lnkd.in/eaJgF4Qi #Sustainability

Congratulations to the innovative climate action projects of 12 student teams from across New Jersey in the NJ Student Climate Challenge. These middle and high school students have developed creative solutions to address climate change, from planting trees to revamping greenhouses. Their work exemplifies the power and potential of our younger generation in making meaningful environmental impacts. A special thank you to our partners, the Drumthwacket Foundation and Sustainable Jersey, and to New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy for celebrating these inspiring projects. Together, we are fostering a generation equipped to drive sustainable change in their communities today and for the future. #ClimateAction #Sustainability #FutureLeaders
