About us
Astor Services is a community based, non-profit organization that provides children's mental health services, child welfare services, and early childhood development programs. Astor serves children and families in New York State's Mid-Hudson Valley region and the Bronx. Through a wide variety of premier quality education and mental health services, Astor provides support for pre-schoolers, children with behavioral and emotional health problems, children at risk of placement in foster care, and families that need assistance in developing the skills necessary to raise their children in an environment filled with increasing challenges. Astor currently serves thousands of children each year through its prevention, early childhood, special education, community behavioral health and residential treatment programs. No one will be denied access to services due to their inability to pay. A discounted/sliding fee schedule is available based on family size and income.

The Poughkeepsie Public Library District’s Rover Bookmobile paid a visit to Astor Services' Wappingers Head Start program. Parents were able to sign their child up for a library card and borrow books! Classrooms were invited onboard the Rover to explore a mini library of books, teachers borrowed books to be read with their class. Some classes decided to enjoy the fresh air and do some outdoor reading.

Astor Services is currently accepting applications for this year’s scholarship program and invites any current or former Hudson Valley clients who are entering their first year of higher education to apply. Two applicants will be chosen to receive a one-time $5,000 scholarship to be used for college, university, or vocational studies. Application deadline July 12.
