The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) has finalized a new rule requiring healthcare AI developers to provide more transparency about their products. This includes disclosing information about funding, training data, bias prevention measures, validation, and intended use cases.   Micky Tripathi, head of the ONC, believes this rule will encourage higher quality AI tools and greater adoption by healthcare providers. By providing more visibility into available AI solutions, clinicians can make informed decisions about reliability and workflow compatibility.   At Artisight, we applaud the ONC’s initiatives surrounding transparency.
