🤝 During National Volunteer Week, I'm excited to spotlight the meaningful work done by our Amerigroup DC team. We had the valuable experience of volunteering with DC Central Kitchen, working hand-in-hand with their dedicated front-line staff and Culinary Job Training students. The team took part in preparing fresh, balanced meals for the community by chopping, cutting, and peeling an array of fresh produce. Moreover, we're incredibly proud to announce that Amerigroup has contributed $80,000 to support the impactful job training programs run by DC Central Kitchen. We firmly believe in their mission and are committed to supporting their efforts. Through our volunteer work and contribution, we hope to aid the important work of DC Central Kitchen and contribute to the betterment of our community. One year ago, we embarked on a mission with Amerigroup to combat hunger in Clayton County through our Goodr Grocery Store at Pointe South Middle School. We celebrate over 1,600 visits, 56,000 meals, and 24,000 pounds of food distributed. "This partnership with Goodr has been a cornerstone in providing essential relief and support to families over the past year." Mel Lindsey, President of Amerigroup Georgia. In Georgia, where over 1.1 million people, including 335,000 children, grapple with food insecurity, our collaboration is making a significant impact.
