More American clean power is on the way as Indiana’s largest solar project will soon begin commercial operations. This week #ACPMember Doral Renewables USA held a ceremony to commemorate the upcoming commercial operations of its Mammoth North Solar project with industry leaders including Doral CEO Nick Cohen and ACP Board Member and Nextracker Inc. CEO Daniel Shugar, Indiana elected officials, landowners and partners. ACP’s Vice President of State Affairs Sarah Propst delivered remarks about the economic benefits that Mammoth Solar and other clean energy investments bring to Indiana. The project is a major segment (400 MW) of the 1.3 GW Mammoth Solar project and will provide enough energy to power 75,000 households. Mammoth North Solar is also home to a substantial solar grazing operation, with over 1,500 sheep grazing the project’s land, assisting with its vegetation management efforts. Clean energy companies are investing in America. #ACPmember LS GreenLink announced that it will build a state-of-the-art facility to manufacture high-voltage DC subsea cables used for offshore wind farms. The Virginia facility will create 330 U.S. jobs. Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin made the announcement in Chesapeake, VA where he called offshore wind “all American and all of the above.” He further stated: “We need the most affordable, reliable and increasingly clean power in the world. Innovation is making #windpower more productive and efficient. Congratulations to #ACPmember Clearway Energy Group who closed financing and started repowering construction on its Cedro Hill wind farm in South Texas. Cedro Hill’s repowered capacity will increase the wind farm’s generation capacity to 160 MW, extending the project’s operating life by 15 years and property taxes and landowner payments to Webb County by $27 million.
