Advocacy at work! ALS Northwest alongside many ALS organizations lobbied Congress to allocate funds to study ALS and raise the profile of the disease amongst the research community. The result was a National Academy of Science study: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis: Accelerating Treatments and Improving Quality of Life. This collaborative effort by academia, government, industry, nonprofits and people living with ALS aims to be a road map to advancing new therapies and better quality of life for people with ALS. Join the National Academy of Sciences Webinar sharing the report on June 18th, 2024. Register for the webinar at https://lnkd.in/gTftHmAW

As proud members of ALS United, we're excited to support the Accelerating Medicines Partnership (AMP) ALS Project managed by Foundation for the National Institutes of Health, thanks to the unwavering dedication of our supporters nationwide. This innovative initiative highlights the crucial role of collaboration between public and private organizations in advancing ALS research. By developing a central ALS Knowledge Platform and identifying new therapeutic targets, we’re making significant strides towards addressing the urgent unmet needs of individuals living with ALS. Together, we’re not just envisioning progress—we’re actively forging a path towards a brighter future for the ALS community. #ALSResearch #EndALS #ALSUnited #AMPALS #ALS #MND #BridgesToBreakthroughs https://lnkd.in/eYdiyXwQ
