An exciting update from our CEO, Ahmed Saeed:
The lack of bankable projects is a major barrier to accelerating the climate transition and economic growth in the developing world. It is a problem that begins in the precarious early stages of project development. Allied Climate Partners had an exceptional end to 2023. We were privileged to stand alongside so many key partners, co-collaborators, and friends for our official launch at COP28. Continued thanks go to our initial funders - a group that includes Arnold Ventures, Ballmer Group, Bezos Earth Fund, Anita & Josh Beckenstein, Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), Sea Change Foundation, Soros Economic Development Fund, of course our founders Three Cairns Group and several others. As 2024 gets underway, I am excited to share news of an important first step in our collective efforts: the first close of Southeast Asia Clean Energy Fund II (SEACEF II), managed by Clime Capital. We are excited to be providing catalytic, first loss capital to help early-stage developers and businesses deliver renewable energy, energy efficiency, and grid solutions across Southeast Asia. Going forward, our goal is to catalyze additional funds like SEACEF II that are targeting the project development financing gap at scale in emerging markets and developing economies around the world. https://lnkd.in/gGr7cDAu
