Today is World Hydrography Day! 🌊   Hydrographic surveying involves measuring and mapping underwater features. Our fleet of vessels remains mobilized with high-resolution sonars and high-accuracy positioning and orientation systems to meet a wide range of applications, including supporting dredging operations, facilitating site characterization, investigating submerged hazards and debris, and measuring general bottom conditions. Meet Ella! This summer Ella joins AKS as a landscape architecture intern, before returning to Washington State University for her final year! Ella will be graduating with a landscape architecture degree. What part of the AKS internship program are you most excited about? “Learning about the process of taking a project from start to finish and seeing how everyone works together in a multi-disciplinary firm to complete projects with extremely wide scopes! We recently held our annual employee appreciation company retreat: Camp AKS! There are many reasons why we choose to step away from our desks and out of the field for a weekend, but these are the top 3: 🏠 Connection and Community: With 7 offices across Oregon and Washington, this is the only time of year we are gathered as a company. At Camp, we meet in person instead of over email or video chat. 📖 Learning Opportunities: Before play comes work! While we do have fun in the evening, a large portion of the day is spent in sessions. Everyone benefited from a variety of talks, provided by different members of our talented team. 🤲 Encouraging Collaboration: Camp AKS is an opportunity for collaborative, productive conversation between leadership and the rest of the company.
