Remember all the positive components coming out of the Inflation Reduction Act. Here's a new one from the GSA, which will invest $80 million from the Act into smart building technologies, including those that measure electricity, water, and gas performance to optimize federal building operations and energy use within 560 federal buildings. https://loom.ly/J02N3Zk

“Our young people today….they are going to measure our success by the depth of our commitment to save the planet,” said Ali Zaidi, White House Climate Advisor who spoke at AIA24, today. * Speaking to a standing-room-only conference hall of architects, he addressed the litany of tools in the hands of architects, and how the profession is committed to a more sustainable future. * Zaidi described the pillars of a sustainable future: a highly energy-efficient next-generation infrastructure; sustainable materials that provide jobs across the country and reduce operational costs in homes, institutions, and businesses; and the tackling of embodied carbon. “You are our partner in blueprinting how we tackle these challenges and you will be our partner in implementing it every step of the way,” he told AIA24 attendees.

📌 For People, Practice, and Prosperity - It's Time to Change the Workplace Culture * AIA California believes there is a gap in our profession and the future is uncertain. * Will emerging professionals take a different route because we are not responding to the changing landscape? * Will other industries step in and usurp the role of the architect because we cannot meet the needs of our clients and communities? * Or... * Can we work together to create a culture of trust and invest in the next generation? * It's time for a new model. * Click on the 🖇️ for more information. https://loom.ly/HdlURkY
