Some #MachineVision history here from Jake Hall. Thanks, Jake! We look forward to your AI & machine vision posts!
#TheManufacturingMillennial | Manufacturing | Automation | Skilled Trades | Keynote Speaker | Industry 4.0
The first use of #MachineVision in 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟏, when General Motors used a camera at a foundry to sort different castings on a conveyor belt. Today there are 𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐬. Three years after that integration, the 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐀𝐈𝐀) was established in 1984 which is now part of A3. Today machine vision is used in all sorts of applications, including: 📷 Quality Control and Inspection 📷 Robotic Guidance 📷 Sorting and Identification 📷 OCR Some of the companies that specialize in designing and manufacturing these products are featured below! 🔷 Cognex Corporation 🔷 SICK Sensor Intelligence 🔷 KEYENCE CORPORATION 🔷 Baumer Group 🔷 Banner Engineering 🔷Zebra Technologies 🔷 Datalogic 🔷 Teledyne DALSA 🔷 Opto Engineering Stay tuned for future posts where we dive into companies using AI to step up machine vision capabilities. #TheManufacturingMillennial #visioninspection #camera #engineering #technology #automation #roboticautomation
