On April 24th 2024, 5G SEAGUL held its successful Live Event in the border of Greece-Bulgaria in the area of Promachonas Customs. The attendees had the opportunity to experience for the first time in Europe, uninterrupted data and voice services during the handover between commercial mobile networks, that is implemented by the participating network operators COSMOTE and A1BG. Also, advanced connected automated use cases for transport and logistics were showcased by WINGS ICT Solutions through the utilization of WINGSChariot platform for logistics. Special thanks to our honorable guests from European, Bulgarian and Greek authorities, companies and end-users for joining us in the Live Event and for having the chance to experience live the achievements of 5G SEAGUL so far. On 20-22 March 2024, 5G SEAGUL plenary meeting and testings took place in the city of Serres, Greece and the Greece-Bulgaria border area. Testings of network handover and service continuity were conducted in the border area. During the plenary and network and application tests, partners had the opportunity to provide their feedback and share views on the project status as well as next steps.   WINGS ICT Solutions tested and showcased OBU-based operations and WINGSChariot platform for logistics services focusing on Transport safety, convenience and sustainable goods transfer. Other use cases such as voice calls; video calls; video streaming and data sharing for real-time situation awareness and traffic information application were tested by our operators.     5G SEAGUL project provides uninterrupted 5G connectivity in approximately 300 Km of highway on the Greek (GR) side and 173 Km of highway on the Bulgarian (BG) side capable of supporting advanced connected automated mobility (CAM) use cases. The project focuses on the Orient/East-Med corridor traversing the GR-BG borders, including the border-crossing of Promahonas/Kulata.   @EU_HaDEA #CEFDigital

Mrs. Elina Theodoropoulou (COSMOTE) gave a presentation of the project 5G SEAGUL at INFOCOM 2023. The event was organized in Athens, Greece at 14-Dec-2023 and the presentation was titled "5G SEAGUL: 5G Seamless Roaming for the Greece-Bulgaria Cross-Border Corridor".  

5G SEAGUL partners will participate in the 5G CORRIDORS WORKSHOP 2023 and will give a presentation in the session "Roundtable: Lessons learnt from study to deployment". The GUIDE project, with the support of HaDEA and DG CNECT, are proposing this face-to-face workshop hosted by the European Commission to review the two 5G Strategic Deployment Agendas published in 2020 in the fields of rail and road. The objective is to provide guidance to 5G corridor deployment efforts from the public and private sectors and stimulate EU-funded project pipeline building.
