In today's rapidly evolving world, fostering creativity in students is no longer a luxury, it's a necessity. Universities play a crucial role in nurturing creative thinkers, and faculty members are at the forefront of this endeavor. Cultivate a Growth Mindset, Design for Choice, Embrace Open-Ended Questions; Break Away from Lectures, Use Projects & Activities, and Cater to Different Learning Styles by using these strategies we can foster creativity.

Fostering creativity in teaching is essential for engaging students and promoting innovative thinking. Here are practical strategies to help faculty members nurture creativity in their classrooms: Encourage Divergent Thinking: Encourage students to explore multiple solutions, think outside the box, and consider diverse perspectives. Create an environment where unconventional ideas are valued. Incorporate the Arts: Integrate arts-based activities into lesson plans. Use visual arts, music, drama, or creative writing to inspire imagination and self-expression. Create a Supportive Learning Environment: Foster a safe space where students feel comfortable taking risks and sharing their ideas.

I believe that using a creative teaching style will assist students recall the material and keep facilitators engaged in the process of learning and teaching. For that, my suggestion to facilitators is to: (1) understand and accept the short attention span of the new generation of students - think like them to facilitate learning in them (2) reawaken the child in you - bring games to the classroom in the form of role plays, activities, and simulations to engage your students (3) embrace the concept of Storytelling - storytelling is a powerful tool that can be used in any context to help students understand the flow of concepts, their impacts, and alternatives. (4) remember that facilitators don't lecture, instead, they support learning

Collaborative works are great for fostering creativity and learning. Through Newton-Bhabha Higher Education Partnership Project sponsored by Royal Academy of Engineering, UK in 2016 I was able to realise it. We involved students in small research projects based on solar solutions for community needs. Students were allowed to come up with problems and their probable solutions. I found the students flowing with creative ideas and enthusiasm. We would together discuss on the different aspects, and as a mentor I would think deeply and consult resources to guide them, which further helped me and my students. Collaborations with other universities and industry persons were added advantage resulting in development of diverse thinking patterns.

GW and PW always work in classroom. They give collaborative spirit to the learning ecxperience and enable students to push their boundaries through collaboration with mates and learn not only from the teacher but also from each other.

One of mentors told me once that don't look every time for answer. Many times, one question required answers. Looking for diverse perspectives is a skill rather than a distraction. Integration of diverse perspectives may facilitate better creativity and learning enhancement in class and out-of-class learning and understanding of things.

It is easy to be stagnant and just do the work all day everyday. Taking time to seek out new perspectives by challenging the mind with new opportunities allows us to learn from others and strengthen skills.

True, life long learning is an essential requirement on part of a faculty. Learning through latest trends, resources, collaborations and networking are all important. Further learning through the changing scenario of society, communities, environmental state etc. are also important as these instill ideas to provide required solutions. A faculty member willing to learn and sensitive towards surroundings will always find inspiration and can relate teaching with the issues making it more interesting and creative.

Encouraging Business School students to generate music videos as reach-out tools for #SocialSustainability initiatives can allow them to demonstrate the extent to which they meet learning outcomes with an output that is ‘relatable to their age group and lifestyle’ and that promotes cognitive and emotional engagement. The possibility to create reach-out tools for promoting #SocialSustainability offers students substantial autonomy, challenging them to use higher level skills such as #CreativeThinking, #Problem-solving, relating ideas, as well as using evidence to build arguments. With AI, students have the potential of expanding their #creativity to spheres that would have not normally been part of the learning experience in this field.

Introduce interactive tools like digital whiteboards, multimedia content, and virtual reality to enhance lesson engagement. Encourage the use of learning management systems for personalized instruction and collaboration. Provide training on emerging technologies and facilitate sharing of best practices. Leveraging technology can inspire innovative teaching methods and enrich the learning experience for students.

One thing I found helpful is in using computers in the classroom to facilitate learning experience hence making it more interesting for students to learn on their own. This is great tools to implement in blended learning environment and can be use either on line or off line.

Collaborations, continuous learning, diverse perspectives, feedbacks are all important but the most important thing is allowing time and freedom to faculty members for relaxed introspection and support for pursuing above mentioned measures. A stressed, burnt out faculty member can never be creative. Instead of race for awards and rankings, focus should be on creating free spaces to think, ponder and experiment in teaching and learning. The passion, the joy emanated in teaching-learning process should be highlighted and valued.
